Project Description:
By the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, 2021 has been declared the Year of Nizami Ganjavi in the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijan poet Nizami Ganjavi. The project team of “Sonmaz Mashall” Cultural Relations Public Union have implemented a project entitled “Seven Beauties, Seven Cultures and Seven Planets” as a result of which a CD covering the material on analysys of “Seven Beauties” by Nizami Ganjavi and excerpts from the tales narrated by an Azerbaijani art reader dressed like the seven beauties in the “Seven Beauties” by Nizami Ganjavi have been puplished.
Numerology described in the poem "Seven Beauties" by Konul Bunyadzadeh, Correspondent Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the member of the International Network of Women Philosophers (UNESCO), Head of the Department of Islamic Philosophy, The Vice-President of Asian Philosophical Association was accompanied by analysis on astrology and color symbolism in the CD. According to her, the qualities of the seven beauties from the seven different climates and the seven countries in the poem are combined in the images of real women from the seven climates, from seven countries of modern times. In the centre of all these qualities is the image of an Azerbaijani woman.
As part of the project, Philip Juji an amateur carpet weaver who is also a fan of Azerbaijan carpets as a member of the partnering organization to the “Sonmaz Mashall” Cultural Relations Public Union - the France-Azerbaijan Dialogue Association, weaved a carpet as a gift to the year of Nizami depicting a scene from “seven beauties” voluntarily.
Artist Narmina Valiyeva, the most active member of the “Sonmaz Mashall” Cultural Relations Public Union, contributed to the project by painting a portrait of Nizami Ganjavi donating them to the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora. The video disc also includes the picture of the carpet with the picture of the seven beauties on it and paintings by Narmina Valiyeva.
The Aim of the Project
The aim of the project is to present our contribution to the Year of Nizami Ganjavi declared by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 880th anniversary of the great poet Nizami Ganjavi, who donated priceless pearls to the treasury of world poetry, that will be widely celebrated both in Azerbaijan and in the world. Celebration of 880 anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi at the state level, who has amazed humanity with his poetic treasure for 880 years will go down in history as a year of reconsidering Nizami Ganjavi’s invaluable contribution to his country, as well as to the world.
The CDs published within the framework of the project have been distributed to the foreign embassies, as well as diplomatic corpses to the Republic of Azerbaijan to show N. Ganjavi's genius to the world literary community and the video material will be placed on YouTube to be accessible to the internet users.
